SOLAR ENERGY

Harness the Solar Energy in your backyard

Solar Energy can be employed to heat your water as well as provide electricity for you home or business. BHA represents the premier Bunderus (Bosch) line. A little known fact, the largest solar energy park is located in Bavaria, which provides 12 Mega Watts of electricity to about 3,500 households from 1,400 movable solar panels. Bunderus is one of the main engineering firms that developed the technology for the solar park. Bunderus is one of the leading engineering firms developing solar technology in the world today and that is who BHA is partnered with to bring you real world solar solutions today.

Solar Hot Water

There are two ways to approach heating water using solar energy, one is actively heat water or passively heating water.

Active Heating includes a circulating pump and temperature control inside the solar hot water system, which heats water on sunny days.

The Passive System employs no moving parts, it heats water on sunny days and the solar heated water is used to maintain the reservoir in a conventional hot water heater.

The experts at Bibb Henry Albert will be happy to meet with you about installing a solar system, they can advise you on which approach would be best based on your hot water usage, goals and budget.

Solar Electricity

Many Baltimorians are exploring solar energy as an option for their home and or business's electricity needs.

How it works is the sun's energy is captured by photovoltaic cells, and electrical current is discharged.

Direct Current applications are generally stand-alone systems, not connected to an energy grid, and are connected directly to the appliance(s) to be powered. The direct current not consumed by the appliance can be stored in batteries to be used after the sun goes down.

A common example is a remote weather station on the side of the highway, where a small solar panel is used to charge a battery and powers the small computer and sensors reading the temperature, wind and humidity and transmits the data by radio. A Direct Current Solar Power Station could be used to charge an electric car.

For most applications you need to generate Alternating Current, which requires the additional step of converting the DC Current in to AC Current. Alternating Current is how the utilities supply electrical power to residences and businesses. If you have a Solar AC Power System, you can potentially connect it into your electrical panel and potentially supply all your electrical needs. Then if there is excess, charge reserve batteries or sell the power to your utility.

Almost anything you do with solar will qualify for Federal & State Tax Credits and manufacture's rebates. Bibb Henry Albert's team can design and install the system that is appropriate for your home as well as assist you with the paperwork for your tax credits. Start by calling BHA today at 410.486.7171 to arrange for a free Energy Audit.
